Sango Veterinary Hospital provides routine surgical services such as spay and neuter as well as non-routine services such as abdominal exploratory surgery, c-section, and much more.
Our veterinarian gives every pet a thorough pre-surgical exam, evaluates lab results, and identifies any surgical or anesthetic risks based on age, weight, or pre-existing diseases. A comprehensive anesthetic and surgical plan is developed for each individual patient to provide the safest and most effective anesthesia and surgical procedure.
Our veterinary staff closely monitors vital signs such as temperature, EKG/heart rate, respiration/breathing, oxygen levels, and blood pressure so that any concern under anesthesia may be addressed immediately.
Each patient is assigned an individualized pain management plan based on the type of procedure as well as the individuals pain tolerance. Pain management starts even before the anesthesia, continues through the procedure, after the procedure, and when the pet returns home. Pets heal faster and with fewer complications when pain is managed, not to mention they are much happier!
Surgical procedures are performed in a clean surgical suite with appropriate surgical attire and veterinary approved surgical materials as recommended by the American Animal Hospital Association. All of our internal sutures are always absorbable.
Dr. Whitbeck and the staff attend regular continuing education seminars to keep up with new and improving surgical and anesthetic techniques for the safety of your pet.
